Silver Comet LT Tour

Silver Comet LT

The Silver Comet Trail is named for the Silver Comet passenger train that traversed the route in the middle of the last century. Now the second longest rail-to-trail route in the nation and one of the most widely acclaimed, the route takes riders from the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia to its continuation onto the Chief Ladiga Trail in Eastern Alabama.

This two-day out-and-back tour takes riders through the forests and small towns of Western Georgia and eventually culminating at the trailhead near Anniston, Alabama. Experience a slice of Americana as we make our way through two states, en route to luxury accommodations at Hotel Finial in Anniston.

The LT ride is our 26-mile (each day of two; 52-mile total) leisure tour beginning from the Chief Ladiga Trail Campground near Piedmont, Alabama. Campsites are available at the campground before and after the tour should you want to extend your visit and enjoy the local hiking, cool waters, and beautiful scenery. The Silver Comet LT gets us in to Anniston early enough to settle in to your comfortable accommodations at Hotel Finial and then enjoy one of our optional afternoon excursions which include mountain biking, local museums and shops, or a wine tasting at White Oak Vineyards. This is the perfect tour for couples, families, or anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

This is the ride for you if you’re looking for gentle slopes, paths free from car traffic, and a hometown feel. Don’t forget to ride your way to a great meal in Anniston!
Apart from dinner on the evening of day 1, this is an all-inclusive tour, with all meals, snacks, drinks, professional ride support, and one-night, double occupancy stay in Hotel Finial included. Single occupancy available upon request.

Double Occupancy Rate: $360 per person
